I was just browsing through here and noticed that your plumbing topic description makes reference to making points with the wife for fixing a faucet or toilet. (or something like that) It made me giggle because there are certain things my husband won't do that I get stuck doing... one of those was changing the valves when we put in a new vanity. He also has a thing about going in the attic, but I don't blame him, I'm much smaller. :-)

I know a couple who built
I know a couple who built their own house. She did the plumbing and he did the electrical work. I'm with Brooke on this!
I'm female and my philosophy is that most repairs are either loose connections or replacecable parts and it's stood me well when fixing the washing machine, but I've gotten nowhere with broken fans and non-working phones. So, again, the plumbing seems to go better than the electrical for me.
My mother re-roofed our house herself when I was a kid. Poverty should give women more incentive to do stuff for ourselves. It sure had that effect in my mom's case

I do think you should keep it. It did make me laugh though. I think JZ is right, it's a poverty induced thing.
