Donald, could you give me a few more particulars? What is currently in place if anything? How heavy is the mantle and what is it made of?

Depending on the weight, which is the greatest determining factor really, you may just have to drill into the brick and epoxy some rods in place to hang the mantle on, but it depends also on how the mantle can be supported. Are there any mounting points on the mantle?
